The Coalition - Advocating for MH/DD/SAS 5.00 5.002

The Coalition (formerly Coalition 2001) advocates for meeting the needs of North Carolinians living with mental illness, developmental disabilities, and the disease of addiction.

The Coalition sponsors advocacy events that bring advocates to Raleigh to meet with their state Legislators.

This Meetup group is set up to inform advocates about upcoming events, get Coalition updates and information, and connect with other NC advocates to carpool to events.

NOTE: The Legislature will be back in session May of 2010. No events will take place until the Spring of 2010. We will post meetings and events of interest to the mental health, developmental disability and addictive disease community on the events calendar, but these are not Coalition Meetups.

What members are saying

It's well organized, efficient and, we hope, effective!

“Being new to the area, I'm surprised at how hush-hush and stigmatized mental health issues still are. I'm interested in others' experiences and am an activist by nature with no forum until now.”
