Game.minder Expo

  • Mar 16, 2013 · 12:00 PM

THIS EXPO IS IN CLEVELAND. This is a copy of the event from the Cleveland Game Developers.

CGD member Jeremy Handel is putting on a unique event called GMX that includes a screening of the documentary "The Story Of Mojang". And here is more about the event:

Games are made in California right? Or maybe in Europe or Australia? Guess again! Games are made everywhere, even right here in Ohio. If that surprises you, maybe you should stop by the inaugural GAME.minder Expo and take a look at what's been happening right in your backyard!

Starting right around lunch time, and ending late in the evening, think of GMX as one part Penny Arcade Expo mixed with one part Game Developers Conference, thrown in a pot with a splash of IndieCade and some midwestern charm.

Some things you can expect:

Demos of games
Developers showing off their works in progress
Panel discussions on game development
Presentations on art, tech and even the law
A great movie!
If this sounds like your cup of tea, register on Eventbrite.

It was great to see everyone from Columbus who made it to the Game.minder expo, there were apparently over 100 people who were there from all around Ohio and further.

It was awesome to sit through the workshops and listen to some great talks - not to mention see all the games that the Ohio peeps have been working on!

just wanted to let everyone know - we've secured additional sponsors and so we're no longer charging admission. If you already bought a ticket, you've been refunded but if you haven't, now's the time to register for free! thanks

Hi Lou, I'm the guy throwing it. My company Handelabra makes an app called GAME.minder which tracks video game release dates. We've become pretty keyed into the local game developers scene here in cleveland and the event is coming about as a way to get developers and (hopefully) gamers interested in development together at the Launchhouse which is a local tech accelerator. Every time we confirm another presentation or panel, I'm updating so you can find the latest info on the event there.

    Thanks for the interest!
