What Steve Castro is saying about this Meetup Group

This is a great place to learn a lot about game development in general and to get in on the discussion of the latest game technologies and advancements, as well as indie game development.

  • Hey Steve, It's been a long time! Are you going to the meet up tomorrow night? I'm planning on going, hopefully going to eat some Rubino's pizza in Bexley beforehand, if you and your wife would like to join me. :) Steve Harris

  • P.S. I am more interested in Parkour than in its counterpart, Free-running. That's just me, and I know not everyone makes a differentiation. I'm highly interested in getting from point A to point B, but not in being very tricksy. If I think about it, I've always done stuff like Parkour plus I used to sk8 (or die). This is KIND OF like skateboarding without being on wheels. I don't think it's about showing off, either. I love non-competitive fun and community!

  • Hi Steve; was it you I spoke with, who had some time to tell me about Parkour (the name of which I couldn't remember until yesterday in a flash, beings that it's French - not a language I've studied)? That was very kind of you. I still remember you, if that was you, climbing up the stairs in a push-up stance feet first.

Now, regarind Parkour, I spent all night reading, watching videos, doing everything but practicing. I'd love training. WhatIgattado to get signed up? :) I'm in!!!

I'm Adam from Meetup HQ, and I wanted to congratulate you on creating your new Meetup Group. Parkour sound like a neat way to stay fit -- never have tried it yet, myself!

  • Thanks for the greeting! You're probably right that I should get some more basic experience beforehand, though my personal goal isn't to do much on the programming aspect of the game. I plan to be the creative director (designing maps, towns, questlines, plots, bosses, etc) and to be the team/company manager. I'm planning on majoring in a business degree in college, and taking programming courses as a minor.
