Escapism, same reason I play them.
Professional experience? Nil. I have however been interested in creating game content since the Compuserve days. Case in point, Island of Kesmai was a text-based MUD and I kept pushing Fledge, the game's creator, to let players ride on griffons.
It is my passion. An outlet, if you will.
Concept art, pencil sketches, some photoshop, and anything else I manage to learn.
I'm an artistically inclined sketcher, writer and literary composer who aspires to be a graphic novelist. I'm getting back into comic books and manga, Anime and Machinima. I'm also an electronic gaming enthusiast.
It consisted of highly informative discourse conducted by game developers who had years of experience in their various fields. And we had women attending! No joke!
