Specific Unity tutorial site/book recommendations?

I'm looking for some cookbook-style guides to Unity. i.e. I want to perform task x; what's the idiomatic way to perform this task in Unity and more importantly, WHY.

What I'm NOT looking for: reference material (I can already get this on their site). How to program (I already know how to program). Paint-by-number tutorials (do x, do y, do z, voila. Great, now I have a finished product, but I don't know why the authors chose to do what they did nor how/why I might want to apply this to my own project).

The style I'm most interested in right at the moment is turn-based/tile-based puzzle games, because I'm wondering whether it would be beyond my grasp to try to port something like Stephen Shipway's old Wanderer* game to Unity.
