The Rockies Draft Retreat 2013 is sponsored by the Bernese Mountain Dog Club of the Rockies on Sunday, August 25 in a new,
one-day format. The intent of the Retreat is to promote draft work and to offer a place where people of different experience levels
can get together to train with their dogs, learn tips and tricks, hone their skills, and ultimately prepare for a BMDCA Draft Test.
Training will consist of a single, all-levels track with options that allow the handler to focus on their particular areas of interest. Each
session will be geared for a range of handlers with little or no experience, dogs who have never been hooked up to a cart, or teams that just starting out and want to learn a solid foundation of skills; as well as towards dogs and handlers with some experience, who are
able to negotiate basic obstacles, or are tuning up and preparing for upcoming BMDCA Draft Tests. Instruction will be provided by
BMDCA Draft Judges and Draft Title holders.
We're very pleased to say that past many of our past graduates are participating in draft tests and several have earned multiple draft titles,
including both Advanced and Master levels. Whether you're interested in Draft as a fun game to play with your dog, or want to begin competing, the retreat will put you on the fast track to success!
