Friday Night Hike!

This is one of Kodiak's favorite evening hiking spots. This trail is located across from Forsberg Park ( It's a fairly easy hike, and we can choose to turn around at any time. It is a popular Mountain Biking destination, so we will need to be cautious and aware of others using the trail. Dogs must be kept leashed on this trail.

Let's park in the same parking lot we would use if we were going to the dog park, since that one's easy to get to. Instead of heading to the park, cross Alameda and meet at the entrance to the trail. I'm not actually sure this is the official trailhead, but it's a good spot to enter the trail because it's wider, so there's room to congregate and wait for everyone to arrive.

Be sure to bring plenty of water for you and your pups, and bags to clean up after your dog(s)! Wear comfortable shoes because this trail is a bit rocky.

It was great to see everyone! I would hike on the other side of the trail next time - this side had a lot of cacti and prickly things that seemed to irritate my dogs' feet. Otherwise, nice views and good company!

Kathy, glad you can make it tonight! It might just be us, but that's OK. :) Do you know where the meeting spot is?

Awesome, see you across from the dog park then! Can't wait to meet your foster, either. I want to foster for them as soon as we have space. :)

By the way, this trail has amazing views of the city and the foothills. It's a nice place to experience the sunset, too, if you're out that long.
