I received Storm from a rescue when he was a year old. He came from a puppy mill and was severely matted, underweight, and very timid. With time (and the help of my golden) he learned to trust me. I also was able to get him to a weight of 75 lbs. He remainded timid with other people, but if they were patient - he would usually find his way over to sniff and decide if he would accept them. I had Storm for 4 1/2 years before he died of renal failure. During those years he taught me many life lessons. He was without a doubt the best dog I've ever had. My golden - Wrigley - just turned 10. He too is a wonderful dog. We moved to Denver a little over a year ago. The dog parks, hiking trails, and other outdoor activiites has helped him lose weight and has brought out more of his "puppy" traits.
I live in NW Denver. Travel distance really would depend on the activity.
Yes I am. Although Wrigley has gotten more active - because he is a senior I would probably do only easy or medium hikes
Not at this time
Sure - if my schedule allows
Although I do not currently have a Bernese - my Golden and I love being around them. I hope to have one agin in the future, but until then would like join this group simply to be around the breed and the people who love them. Linda
