What made you learn American Sign Language?

When my youngest son was born, just two months ago, I found out that he has bilateral, profound hearing loss. I have been scrambling to learn ASL to be able to communicate with him.

What is your experience thus far with ASL?

I am a beginner with limited signing experience, but I am picking it up faster than I thought. I am attending a class at CSDB.

Introduction

Hello! I am 34 years old and the mother of a son who has bilateral profound hearing loss. I am just a beginner at ASL, but I am working very hard to become proficient and stay one step a head of my son.
