David Gardiner will give a slide show about this summer’s visit to the 20th anniversary celebration of Siddhartha School, with commentary by Rinpoche and Geshe-la. Tea and dessert follow.
This week we welcome Khen Rinpoche Lobzang Tsetan and his nephew Geshe Tsewang Dorje. Geshe-la will become the new director of Siddhartha School in Ladakh, India, in the summer of 2014 (although Rinpoche will remain the school’s chief spiritual adviser).
Geshe Tsewang is an eminent Ladakhi Buddhist scholar, teacher, and administrator. He studied at Sera Jey Monastic University in southern India, where he later assumed administrative roles. He is also the founding director of the Ngari Institute of Buddhist Dialectics, a youth hostel and cultural center, and the chief supervisor of the Jamtse-Ling Buddha Relics Temple, both in Ladakh, India. Geshe-la teaches at several dharma centers in the international Buddhist community, including Theken Choling in Singapore and a Vietnamese monastery in San Francisco.
We hope you will join Rinpoche and Geshe Tsewang at these events.
