Three Principles of the Buddhist Path

Will meet for 4 Thursdays: Sep 27, Oct. 4, 11 and 18, 7-9 pm This seminar offers an opportunity for close study and discussion of a classic and brief 14th-century Tibetan text by the master Tsong-kha-pa, founder of the Gelugpa school that the Dalai Lama represents. We will read closely the text’s 14 verses and explore deeply the spiritual and philosophical riches of this gem-like text. We will also consult some commentaries on the text. Tsong-kha-pa’s pithy and inspired verses condense all Buddhist practice into the 3 principles of Renunciation (learning how not to chase after stuff), Bodhimind (training oneself to wish and to work tirelessly for the freedom and peace of all beings), and Right View (overcoming how our conceptual mind narrows and freezes our encounter with the vastness and wonder of actual reality). It is a beautiful, clear, and moving set of verses that opens up powerful perspectives on our lives. Instructor: David Gardiner Cost: $80; please send payment to BodhiMind Center, 1316B W. Pikes Peak Ave.,Colo. Spgs., CO 80904 Location: Colorado College Woman's Club

I unlikely will be able to tomorrow, and the following Thursday I'll be in Crestone. I would like to attend the latter two sessions. Wow time creeps up on this. I still thought this was a few weeks off, but here it is!
