We are excited to announce that BodhiMind Center and Springs Mountain Sangha are hosting 3 events by author and translator Bill Porter. He is well known for his translations of Chinese and Sanskrit texts, which he translates under the name “Red Pine.” After dropping out of graduate school at Columbia University, Porter moved to a Buddhist monastery in Taiwan and lived with the monks and nuns for 4 years, then worked at English-language radio stations in Taiwan and Hong Kong. His translations include Chinese classical texts, poetry, and Buddhist sutras, such as the Taoteching, the Heart Sutra, and Collected Songs of Cold Mountain. He currently lives in Port Townsend, Washington.
