Capacitive Touch Technology

Two big topics for our MeetUp ... first, we will actively go through our list of open questions regarding the MakerSpace that we talked about last time. And, second, Jeff S will be giving us an overview and demo of capacitive touch technology as demonstrated on a Microchip PIC demo board.

Here's Jeff's Abstract for the Main Event:

Mechanical buttons can wear out, fill up with crud, cost money ... Capacitive touch lets you add buttons to your project that never wear out, can't get gunked up and are essentially free. We will look at capacitive touch techniques from both hardware and software perspectives using Microchips PIC microcontrollers. There will be a demo board people can poke at and plenty of time for questions.

See you there!

I really enjoyed the meetup. I learned a new technology that I am now excited to try to work into my designs.
