Atheist book club

We're working on two books this time. Doubt: A History: The Great Doubters and Their Legacy of Innovation from Socrates and Jesus to Thomas Jefferson and Emily Dickinson - Jennifer Michael Hecht ** Just chapters 1-5. We'll do the latter half next time. **

Book 1 of the Dark Materials series: Golden Compass - Philip Pullman (It's young adult fiction that upset some theists.)

Yep, we're just starting Hecht's book and the Golden Compass series. There's still an element of random to the book club discussions but the tangents do circle back to the book(s). And more voices are heard. Please do join us.

Are you still reading these books? And just the first 5 chapters of Hecht's book? I'd like to join the book club, as I prefer more focussed and intellectually stimulating discussions to the free-form discussion of random topics that happen in the Wednesday meetings (which have been largely dominated by one individual the last few times I have been there).
