PLEASE READ - VERY IMPORTANT that you act now:

I thought that you all might find this interesting. Below is an E-mail that was forwarded to me from “Organizing for America” (Move-on.org, Obama) by a neighbor and my response to him is on the next post. Listed is information about the content of HR 3200 America’s Affordable Health Choices Act of 2009 (Health care Reform Bill). The facts prove that this bill is neither affordable or offers any choices to Americans. The House of Reps. might be voting on HR3200 this Friday. Please look at the details of this bill and note how they will affect you and your family members and if it concerns you please sign the petition and call your Representative to vote NO on HR3200 (link to the bill, petition and Representatives contact info. at the bottom of page). Also ask them to co-sponsor and vote yes on H Res. 615 (Congress taking their own medicine) see the details below. Even if you have already contacted them, please do it again!!

Friend –
Last week, Republican Senator Jim DeMint made it pretty clear why the opponents of health care reform are fighting so hard. As he told a special interest attack group, “If we’re able to stop Obama on this, it will be his Waterloo. It will break him.” Here’s how the President responded:
Think about that. This isn’t about me. This isn’t about politics. This is about a health care system that is breaking America’s families, breaking America’s businesses and breaking America’s economy. And we can’t afford the politics of delay and defeat when it comes to health care. Not this time, not now. There are too many lives and livelihoods at stake.
With Congress only days away from finalizing their plans for reform, it’s time to stand with the President and fight back against this disastrous brand of old-style politics. So we need as many people as possible to publicly support the President’s principles for health care reform and call on Congress to act.

Before the first full votes in Congress, we’ll publish the signatures in newspaper ads across the nation, to make sure your voice is heard.

Watch President Obama’s full response, then add your name to support reform. Or if you’ve already signed, please forward this message to all your friends and neighbors so they can join you.

The President is more dedicated than ever to passing health care reform that satisfies the three requirements he’s been talking about for months: Health care reform must reduce costs, guarantee choice – including the choice of a strong public insurance option – and ensure all Americans have quality, affordable health care.

If we do not reform our broken health care system this year, we will shackle future generations with spiraling costs and deteriorating care. The cost of inaction is simply more than this country can afford.

But the special interests who profit from the status quo won’t go down without a fight. The ads, the smears, and the attacks – targeting both President Obama and members of Congress who support reform – will only get worse. So it’s crucial that we show huge backing before Congress finalizes their plans this month.
Stand with President Obama on health care reform:
Thanks for standing up for change,
Mitch

My Response (the facts about some of the content of this bill):
We as citizens of the United States have the best health care in the world and the freedom to make our own decisions and choices. Right now there is Medicare, Medicaid, SCHIP Insurance for Children, Free Health Clinics and ERs for those who can’t afford coverage. Do people flock to Canada and England for specialized health care in a timely manner with cutting edge technologies? NO. They come to the United States. Not only citizens, but Heads of State and the richest in the world travel great distances from other countries to access what we have here. Do you really want to throw that away? If not, please sign the online petition below and contact your House Representative to vote NO on HR3200 and yes on H Res. 615 (see below).

Of course all Americans want health care/insurance reform, but HR 3200 is not the answer. Fighting this health care bill has nothing to do with like or dislike for the President. It has everything to do with the content of the bill and the following items. This bill is expensive, does not insure all of the uninsured and will take away freedom of choice and reduce quantity and quality of your health care. If passed, it will only succeed in making the government larger (controlling 18.4% of our economy) and add bureaucracy to your families health care. This bill is detrimental to American citizens and these Congressmen know it. Do you really want to depend on the people that manage the DMV to manage all your health care?

Any opposition to the President is not a personal attack it is just an attempt to slow down the massive spending spree going on in Washington. Some just want time for Americans and Congress to read, research and discuss this 1,000 plus page bill to make an informed decision before voting. This is what I would like and I hope that you would expect of your Representatives. You should take a look at this bill (link below) to see how it will affect you and your families’ future health care, if passed. I find it interesting that “Organizing for America” does not ask you to do that, they just ask you to listen to the President and blindly support it. What is the rush to push through a program that will fundamentally change the face of America as we know it?

Obama states that health care reform must reduce costs, guarantee choice and include the choice of a strong public insurance option. The only one of these goals that this bill will achieve is the public insurance option (and the option part won’t last for long). It will not reduce costs , the CBO states that the 47 million more people forced onto the system will increase them. Since when has the government ever been able to do anything cheaper than the private sector? It will not guarantee choice, it will take it away. You have choice now!!
http://www.cbo.gov/do...

Did you know The CBO report states that this plan will result in a net cost of approximately $1 Trillion over the 2010-2019 period. http://www.heritage.o...

Did you know that some including the President say that only the rich will pay for this plan!! This is exactly what the government said back in 1913 when the American people voted yes on the 16th amendment (income taxes). Are only the wealthy paying taxes today?

Before tackling a new program that could bankrupt the nation, why don’t they first fix what’s broken? The nearly bankrupt Medicare and Social Security programs which are about to encounter the Baby Boomer generation would be a good place to start and would keep them busy for a while. The Congressional Budget Office report on the Baby Boomer generation states that 75 million will retire in the next 25 years at the estimated cost of $53 Trillion.

Did you know that according to the US Census Bureau that out of 306 million Americans there is actually only between 8.2 and 13.9 million that truly cannot afford health insurance (the rest of the governments 46.5 million uninsured estimate are either voluntarily uninsured or illegal aliens). So for this small percentage, we should throw the baby out with the bath water and ruin and ration all Americans care? They should tweak the system not reinvent the wheel!! To cover the 8.2 to 13.9 million uninsured supply catastrophic coverage which would stop anyone from losing everything that they have if they get very ill and would prevent abuse of the system.
http://www.mrc.org/pr...
Did you know that all residents of the United States will be covered; they do not specify in the bill that you have to be an American citizen to receive free health care. They pay for their own now, you will pay if this passes. Would this really cut costs?

This Health bill (HR 3200) includes funding for two new departments: Health Civil Rights Office and the Minority Health Office. What do you suppose these are for? Is someone going to get preference under this plan that you will be paying for? Also, Medical Schools that accept students based on minority status (not qualification) will get more funding. This is the health version of “Affirmative Action ”.
http://www.americanth...

Did you know that in this bill Congress and the Administration would be exempt from the care that you will be forced to have. If you think that Congress and the Administration should have the same plan as Americans will be forced into please ask your Representative to support H Res. 615. This resolution states that any Congress member that votes for the Health bill will opt out of their Congressional health plan and will join us in our plan. Sounds fair, they can take some of their own medicine!!
H Res. 615, the resolution: http://thomas.loc.gov... OR
http://www.govtrack.u...

Obama says that he will guarantee choice. If so, why will there be a “Health Benefits Advisory Board” (which include labor Union members) that will decide what treatments are allowed for you and your family based on age specifications and cost factors for the various treatments. Since “End of Life” care is deemed most expensive, under a government run health care plan chances are expensive procedures will be denied for the elderly. Do you really want a bureaucratic board in Washington deciding what care will be available to you?

Contiunued.....

Obama mentions that you can keep your own private insurance plan. But this bill states that at the time the bill is passed, if you do not have private coverage, it will no longer be an option. If you do have private coverage you will not be allowed to make any changes to the plan, you can only opt to the public plan. After a while the private sector will not be able to compete. How long do you think that individuals and businesses will want to pay taxes for others public coverage plus pay for their own private coverage. The government makes the laws which will favor the public plan and the government run program does not need to make a profit, they have the taxpayer to pay the bill. Canada started their government run health program just like this private/public and the private was crowded out. The Lewin Group Study estimates that eventually 83.4 million will end up losing their private coverage. The same study mentions that private coverage could go up as much as $460. per person per year as a result of increased cost shifting.

Did you know that you will have to give up Patient / Doctor Confidentiality, because all your medical records will be on a data base in Washington DC and anyone in the government will have access? No freedom of choice here?

Did you know that as the bill is written it does not exclude Abortion so, whether you believe in the right to an Abortion or not you will be paying for it (the taxpayer). No choice here either?

Did you know that according to the this health reform bill you as an individual or an employer will be required to purchase health care and if you do not, you will be fined . Where is the choice here?

Did you know that according to Steven Crowder (video link below) in Canada the average wait is 2-10 hours in the ER and citizens have no Clinic access unless they have a doctor. There is a wait list of two to three years for new patients to get a doctor. Some people have actually lost limbs or have died waiting for procedures. Would you like to experience this? A good amount of Canadians with serious illnesses come to the States for treatment. Where could you go for help, if the US adopts government run health care?

According to the US Health and Human Services the health care industry will be 18.4% of our economy by 2013; if this bill passes the government will control it. The government already controls banks, AIG, GM and Chrysler; if you add the health care industry and they pass the Cap & Trade Energy bill (Energy is 20 % of our GDP- according to USC data) this administration and Congress will be in control of over half of the US Economy. Do you really think that this is a good idea?
http://aspe.hhs.gov/h...

In closing, this bill has no cost cutting measures and no guaranteed choice; it will increase the already bloated national debt which according to the National Debt Clock is now at $11.6 Trillion (increasing at an average of $3.90 billion per day). You and each of your family members already owe $37,836.43 for the Federal debt before any health care reform or cap & trade legislation is passed. The HR 3200 America’s Affordable Health Choices Act of 2009 Bill if passed is a lose, lose situation. Loss of freedom and loss of income for all Americans. If you do not believe this information, look for yourself. After reading the bill, if you agree with me, please sign the petition to fight it and call your representative, the House could vote next Friday.

After you contact your Representative in the House, you might want to bug your Senators also, they vote on the Health Reform Issue when they get back in September.
