Mattabesett, Lone Pine Trail loop hike

This is not a beginner hike.  It is a 9.5 mile intermediate hike with some steep ascents, which are rewarded by their views, making it a 4.5 to 5.5 hour hike at CHA's average pace.  This is a circuit hike so we will start and end at the same spot thus no car shuttles!

Please do not use the "no" rsvp function unless you need to cancel from a "yes". This is a standard preference for all Connecticut Hiking Alliance Meetups. Other Meetup groups may have a different preference.

Pets: Dogs are welcome. Bring a leash there are 2 short road walks.

Equipment: Hiking boots are a must. Denim/jeans are never acceptable with this group. Layers are important. You will sweat on the ascents so please dress in layers and adjust for the conditions.

Inappropriate wear may actually make the hike difficult for you and if you have difficulty it will impact the other hikers. If you are uncertain as to what clothing or items are considered hiking wear, please email me directly, or email any of the co-organizers. We will also be able to share referrals to suppliers of both new and gently used hiking apparel and supplies.

It is not my intention to embarrass any hiker, however if you come without preparation of clothing, food/water, I may pull you aside and ask you to reconsider.

Apres-hike:As always, we will follow the hike with a social outing.  Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.  The ideal location would be; close in proximity to the hike, open for business at the completion of the hike, able to accommodate a large percentage of the group that is attending the hike, willing to withstand our after hike demeanor and provide separate checks for each attendee.  Post any suggestions in the comment portion of this event, Thanks.
