Creative Writers Ambler Meetup

At this Meetup, we'll gather as a group to share our experiences with writing during the month. We'll share ideas and resources and offer encouragement about writing and the process of developing our projects - for ourselves or for publication. We'll also take some time to do writing prompt exercises or other fun writing activities as a way to increase our spontaneity, gain energy and inspiration, and have fun together. If you have writing that you'd like to share, please bring copies with you. We are always happy to celebrate the positive in the work we review and to offer constructive feedback where invited. If you have ideas for fun writing exercises we can do together, please bring them! We will be meeting once per month, on the 2nd Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. If you want to suggest additional times and places to meet, please know you are encouraged to do so. This is a community for all of us!

Everyone seemed to get along well with a nice blend of people of the ones who showed up. I think for a free spot to meet and length of time we take up space the others who rsvped it would have been nice to have all attend. When I got there it was mentioned to me that the group never needs what they say so they did not know where to put me until I told them 12 but just over half showed up. Everyone was nice. Ty

This is something I have been looking for for a long time but...I cannot drive once it is dusky so I cannot come to this next meeting. I don't know if there is someone from Lansdale with whom I could share a ride/depending on where future meetings are I will be able to drive up and back.
    Thanks.

I will try and attend depending on the distance. I live in Levittown, so hopefully it won't be too far

Also there will be a POV/tenses exercise at group and to work on to help develop your writing to show how POV and tenses work together to great compelling fiction and poetry. This exercise arises from a discussion at a prior critique group about POV/tenses.

At our meeting tonight, I drew these cards from Storymatic. If you feel inspired, use them as the basis for a writing prompt. The first two are used to create a character: (1) ex-superhero (2) person with lots and lots of cats. The second two are used to lead you into the story: (1)something is inside the wall (2) noticed at last!
