Creative Writers Ambler Meetup

At this Meetup, we'll gather as a group to share our experiences with writing during the month. We'll share ideas and resources and offer encouragement about writing and the process of developing our projects - for ourselves or for publication. We'll also take some time to do writing prompt exercises or other fun writing activities as a way to increase our spontaneity, gain energy and inspiration, and have fun together. If you have writing that you'd like to share, please bring copies with you. We are always happy to celebrate the positive in the work we review and to offer constructive feedback where invited. If you have ideas for fun writing exercises we can do together, please bring them! We will be meeting once per month, on the 2nd Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. If you want to suggest additional times and places to meet, please know you are encouraged to do so. This is a community for all of us!

As always I enjoyed being with everyone last evening. I like engaging in small talk as much as the next person, but think it is distracting us from the reason we are there. At the King of Prussia Writer's Group people arrive early to get the distraction of mostly social talk out of the way. I know I am as guilty as the next person, but I do think we need to be more structured with the use of our valuable time. Any ideas? Gary

I am glad that so many people have stepped us as leaders in this group. Thank you to Bobby for a long time now and also to Lisa and Uriah who have assumed leadership roles more recently. Having people arrive early to socialize won't work at The Resiliency Center, but perhaps a different venue where arriving early and lingering late is possible would actually work better for the group. There are so many amazingly talented writers in this group. I want you all to get your needs met.

Since the writing boot camp is going to be at Burger King, there is nothing keeping anyone from coming early to socialize there, but I am hoping that once we start, we will get two solid hours of writing in. Of course, this month will be the first meeting, so there may be some trial and error. I will let you know how it goes. I am glad to help out! Thank you to you and Bobby for all of your efforts as well. I have certainly appreciated it!

I think that is a great idea. But we have to adhere to it so everyone has an opportunity to read, speak or offer their critique.

I am looking to make it it, still in the Bay Area dealing with the loss of my Dad and helping my Mom sort through everything getting her on track for living without him. I should be back Tuesday provided the planes are all on time and will see you Wednesday.

I was so looking forward to this and I had something urgent come up that would make me arrive too late. I hope someone on the waiting list can take my place.

Oh no! The meeting is the same day as Philly I-Day! I will be at the convention all day. Wish me luck bringing some new business in the door! Hope you all have a great meeting.
