World building, Pie and Chicken strips; Or how to develop a living world.

Alright gang I am setting this up. I am unsure if I will be there, my father went into the hospital last week and has been touch and go. He developed fungal pneumonia and now has what the doctors believe to be sepsis. I may be flying back to visit him if things get worse. If I am here I want to discuss World building 101 so people can flesh out their worlds which is very important in establishing setting. We will discuss civilizations, social systems and differences between races to make the world more alive. This is a question that I have been getting on my blog and from emails and I think this is important to understand when developing a "world" setting for story.

It was a nice intimate setting with a few people. The exercise was real good and Bobby's questions of what I wrote were great. Really made me think about what I wrote and what I need to write to make it better.
I was asked (Uriah??) to pass along a book that I got at the Lansdale Library. They have a sale each month. One dollar for hardbacks. Fifty cents for softback. What I thought would be a real good reference item is called The Giant Book of Insults by Louis A, Safian. ISBN is[masked]-7. It catagorizes a bunch of insults, ready for inclusion when you need one in your story. Can't wait for next meeting.

Only three plus myself attended. Good discussions and the exercise got some creativity going.

Hi, My name is Ruthe (e is silent). I am a new writer and new to this group. Are new writers welcome? I'm not sure I can make it tonight, but if I can, would it be okay to come if I don't have a story or book that I'm working on? I want to write sci-fi and fantasy, and the topic is very important.

Is Lexington near Ambler? I am not familiar with the area.

"Line Lexington" is north on 309 from Ambler... I think if you GPS it, it may be under a different town.... I would say if you get to 202 and 309,..Head North toward Quakertown, and Zoto's is on the left few miles after Colmar and the YUM YUM... If any questions I have lived in the area 29+ years :)

I just wanted to say, I am glad the host decided to go home. Life is precarious, sepsis takes a strong constitution to beat. I would do anything to spend a day with my mother and father again. My father passed, but my mom is in the nightmare called Alzheimer's .good luck, think positively, my prayers are with you. Sorry to be so familiar, but we are all one family on planet earth.

Ok the first part of the discussion is post on my blogsite or on my author page on face book. I will bring a few copies to hand out. But I figure to actually do this justice it will be done over several meetings so questions can be answered in depth and we xan work on each part.

Dad will pull through...keep the faith. Hang in there, like I texted you. As far as this meet up, I will be there. The topic is one that highly interests me, and I know I can benefit from it.
