Creative Writers Ambler Meetup

At this Meetup, we'll gather as a group to share our experiences with writing during the month. We'll share ideas and resources and offer encouragement about writing and the process of developing our projects - for ourselves or for publication. We'll also take some time to do writing prompt exercises or other fun writing activities as a way to increase our spontaneity, gain energy and inspiration, and have fun together. If you have writing that you'd like to share, please bring copies with you. We are always happy to celebrate the positive in the work we review and to offer constructive feedback where invited. If you have ideas for fun writing exercises we can do together, please bring them! We will be meeting once per month, on the 2nd Monday at 7:00 p.m. If you want to suggest additional times and places to meet, please know you are encouraged to do so. This is a community for all of us!

I won't be able to be there tonight. I thought I was going to make it, but it doesn't look like I will. Enjoy!

Hello! I just joined the group today - would it be okay for me to attend to see what the group is about? What is the normal duration of the meetings? I don't have any writing I'm currently working on, but I'd like to get back in touch with my love for writing. I wasn't sure if these meetings are specifically for critiques. Thanks!

Welcome! Of course, you may attend. You don't have to have any writing prepared. In fact, the critique portion of the group happens at a different meeting. The meeting at the library is a little under 2 hours long and is a discussion about anything writing related. Sometimes, we do writing exercises there and we encourage each other's writing efforts. Hope you can make it.

I'm sorry - I'm not going to be able to make it. Our project implementation at work needs me to stay for the night. Hopefully I'll see you at the next one!

Okay, quick idea for a writing exercise: snack food. Write a short exchange (10-15 minutes) that revolves around a snack food, but don't tell what the snack food is. We'll try to guess the item from what you wrote!

Anyone with any topics for discussion (contests, workshops, events, etc.), please drop me an e-mail to let me know.

Might be running late to this, but I'll try to get to a monday group. Oh, my response to "whether I have a topic to discuss" to the organizer was supposed to be "not this time" rather than: "not".... computer cut me off...

So far the only positive to come from this winter is looking forward to what members of our group have to write about it. That should be interesting.
