Creative Writers Ambler Meetup

At this Meetup, we'll gather as a group to share our experiences with writing during the month. We'll share ideas and resources and offer encouragement about writing and the process of developing our projects - for ourselves or for publication. We'll also take some time to do writing prompt exercises or other fun writing activities as a way to increase our spontaneity, gain energy and inspiration, and have fun together. If you have ideas for fun writing exercises we can do together, please bring them! We will be meeting once per month, on the 2nd Monday at 7:00 p.m. If you want to suggest additional times and places to meet, please know you are encouraged to do so. This is a community for all of us!

I plan to come for the first time tonight. May bring something I wrote.

This is not actually the critique portion of the group. That meeting is on the last Wednesday of the month at Zoto's. As I mentioned in earlier comments, we will be happy to discuss your writing in general, and to talk through any particular stumbling block you may have, but the line-by-line critique group meets at a different time. Please keep an eye out for the posting on the calendar.

I don't see the meetings at Zoto's listed anywhere; what time are they held?

What time are the critique sessions at Zoto's on the last Wednesday of each month? I am working on a new novel was hoping to get some feedback. Thanks.

Hi. If we bring in a piece to review, how lengthy is it typically, and how many copies should we provide?

Go to the message board under the "discussions" link. The first two posts are all about the review process and answered a lot of the questions I had....

I'm not sure how updated the discussions link is and I can't check because I'm at work, but this meeting is not the critique group. We generally try to have this be a discussion group and ask that the critique portion be saved for when we have the critique meeting at Zoto's. We are happy to help in general terms, but we usually run out of time for critiquing at the library meeting.

Is there any cost to joining your group?

    July 27, 2014

    • RM W.

No. Only cost to you is if you attend the Zoto's critique group we ask that you get something since we are taking up the server's time and space and they are gracious to allow us a meeting space.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
