We've extended the deadline for entries until October 10th.  For those who have entered, I will be getting back to you in the next day or two.

The Grove: Artstoberfest is coming!

The Grove exists to celebrate the arts by giving a platform to our community artists
to share their work and by creating a forum to examine the religious and philosophical
implications of the arts.

Date: Saturday, October 27th

Time: 1:30PM – 5:30PM

Location: Calvary Presbyterian Church

                 405 N. Easton Road

                 Willow Grove, PA, 19090

How you can participate:  One of the segments of this event will be for local writers (Upper Moreland / Montco) to do readings from their works.  If you would like to participate, here are the guidelines for submission:

  1. Make submissions to Jay Scharfenberg at [address removed] under the heading ‘Artstoberfest’ or in person at the address above.
  2. Deadline for submissions is October 10th.
  3. Any genre of writing is welcome (a section of a novel, a short story, a poem, a non-fiction work, etc.)
  4. The reading needs to be no more than fifteen minutes.
  5. The reading needs to be appropriate for all ages and a church setting (if not sure, ask).
  6. Published / un-published works are welcome.
  7. For published works, sales are not permitted on church property, but feel free to provide information to the audience on how they can purchase the work.
  8. We are limited in slots for writers to read, so we cannot guarantee that each writer who submits will be able to give a reading.
  9. As per the above, we will report back to all people who make a submission shortly after the deadline in #2.
  10. The writers retain all rights to their work.  We just want to give you a venue to present your work to the community.
  11. There is no cost involved for the writer.  Once again, we just want to give you a venue to present your work.
