Still written by Steve so don't expect a walk in the park and a chance to meet the thinkingbob team. The V & A Museum, founded in 1852, is the world's largest decorative art and design museum covering 5,000 years of world sculpture, furniture, photography, fashion, and loads more. It houses so many artifacts that only a fraction can be seen at any one time. Even so, it is more than enough! So...
Meeting at around 2pm in South Kensington tube station at the designated 'meeting point' there near the barriers, look out for the thinkingbob sign :-) and everyone will be allocated to groups of up to 5 people (or you can make your own
groups). You will be given a challenging and rewarding list of clues, riddles and prompts to work out and follow that will help you get the best out of this classic museum. There will be no time limit as such, so you can take your time to explore the museum but remember to be at the pub by 5pm.
It's a huge place, so the hunt will not take in the whole museum this time. The zones you need/won't need will be indicated.
There will be a charge of £5 per person for this hunt which you can pay when you arrive.
After the hunt, we will rendezvous at a nearby pub at 5pm for everyone to have a post-hunt drink and introduce you to thinkingbob who will also be doing a V&A hunt. Lovely bunch of people i'm sure you will all get on with. A map to the pub will be provided on the day. The winning group will be announced there.
We shall be starting at 1pm, earlier than originally advertised. Call me on my mobile if you come slightly late on the day, we will still be able to integrate you into the hunt: [masked]
Meeting point: Sackler Centre Lunch rooms - nice and easy to find. When exiting the tube, follow the signs for the V & A and take the tunnel route. Enter through the museum tunnel entrance and take the first left. You'll see the 'thinking bob' signs. If you're planning on taking a different route, you can check the map here. Although the museum itself is very well signposted.
We'll set groups off in intervals so dont worry too much if you're running late. If you have any problems you can call us on[masked]
See you tomorrow.
