What is happiness?

In this month of holidays I thought it would be appropriate we meet and discuss what is happiness.  I will allow you each to reference the countless philosophers, cultures, religions and people that would advise what is the source of happiness and come prepared to share.

We should not strive for one single truth of happiness but perhaps simply what makes us happy in our every day lives.

Hope to see you in this new venue and time and thanks to Flynn for her suggestion.

This recent study concludes SWB subjective well being (happiness) is higher in individualistic societies when compared to collectivist societies. This is consistent with previous studies. In fact I could find no study that suggests collectivism contributes to higher levels of happiness.

Thank you all for showing and I very much enjoyed your company. I will check out the restaurant for a January meetup on the MD side I will be setting up in the next couple of weeks. I would very much appreciate any feedback in the interest of improving these and of any topics. Right now I'm thinking "Virtue and Vice".

    Until next time.

This should be a great discussion this evening. Don't worry if you are on time as I made this 6:30 to grab a spot in case the place gets crowded. Of course the idea is talking about happiness will be self fulfilling. Steve.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
