Art Journaling

Backgrounds to use in Journaling

For our Journaling meet up I thought we would practice some techniques for creating interesting backgrounds for our journal pages.
I will bring some examples for you to see and if you want to you can try some of the techniques on your own.
I suggest we work on mixed media or water color paper in sheets no larger than 5 x 7, I think most of mine are 4 x 6.  If you'd rather not work on paper you can always bring art board or a small canvas.

Below is the list of supplies I used. Don't feel like you have to bring every medium on the list, just one you want to try. Or better yet bring a medium I don't have listed and we'll learn even more. You can even pick something up at the store when you get there.

Supply List
Matte Medium
Heavy matte gel
Coarse Molding paste
Crackle Medium
Masking tape
Mod Podge – Matte Medium/Glossy Accents also works.

Acrylic paint
Rubber stamps and ink (Script or texture type)
Palette knife
Paint or Foam brushes
Paper plate or palette to hold paints and medium
Stencils, plastic mesh or plastic stencils

Magazine or other pictures to use on the page

If I think of anything else I will post a comment.

Sorry I have to cancel. Have to pick a friend up from the airport and entertain her until her husbands flight gets in at nine thirty.
