Advanced Aquaponics Class

Prerequisite: AP Introduction Class or Equivalent


This class picks up where the Introduction to Aquaponics class ends, proving more details on systems Nitrogen Cycle start up, operations, maintenance, and diagnostics, measurements, bell siphons, minerals and treatments, managing pH, etc.

Take this class if you want a stronger understanding of how serious Aquaponics systems work. What you learn is transferable to almost any sized Aquaponics system.

Dave has formal Aquaponics training from the University of Virgin Islands and years of local experience that he imparts to students in an easily understandable and translatable way.

Bob's systems will be available for a short tour.

We have designed our classes so you benefit the most from them by taking them in order. It maximizes your and our time and your leaning experience
You are welcome to omit either of the build classes 2a or 2b but, please:
Take 1/ Intro before 3/ Advance
Take 3/ Advanced before 4/ Intro to Commercial
Take 4/ Intro to Commercial before 5/ Commercial Design



Barrel kits will be available at all but the Commercial classes. You can come to an introduction to Aquaponics and leave with parts or a kit ready to assemble, just add the pump, controls of your choice, and some fish, to have a system ready to grow


55 gallon plastic barrels are available for $25 each. You may be able to find them cheaper but make sure they are food grade.


Raft way liner is available for $1/sq ft and comes in 12’ minimum width. So the minimum quantity is 12’x1’ for $12. Just tell us how long a piece you need.


Supplies are available at most meetings.
Email us if you would like to make sure we will have what you want and tell us which meeting you will attend to pick up your supplies.

    This was my second class from Dave, both were Great and filled with so much detail! In the first class I learn so much. The second class reinforced the first and added detail that I missed from information overload. I’m now well on my way with the cycling of my system and feel like I know what to expect.
