Time:   10:00A.M. – 12:00
Format:Outdoor covered meeting area with tour of three systems:
Host:    Bob Jordan

• AP Basics
• Building a backyard IBC system
• Winterizing your System
• Open Discussion
• System Tour

Admission: $20

At this 2 hour meetup you will get to closely examine several different functioning aquaponic systems designs.

We will have several systems displayed:

1- A demo 150 gallon IBC aquaponic system that uses a super simple timed flood & drain setup. It is a good first backyard or medium sized patio system and easy enough for a DIY beginner to build. Dave Pennington’s design, [masked]

2-A Friendly Aquaponics Micro, deep-water, 64 square foot, raft system (see one here) which is 15 months old.

3-A Murray Hallam three bed gravel flood and drain system, which is 14 months old.

Bob Jordan's got a great website with lots of pictures of his systems at

A wealth of valuable experience will be on tap to save you time and money on your build. This will not be a construction session, but an information session with plenty of time to take pictures and get an idea how any or all of these systems might work for you in your situation.

Come join the fun!

If you RSVP yes, please un RSVP if you change your mind, so we can better prepare.

I learned a lot. Presenter was very generous with his information!

The class itself was very educational. Mr. Jordan was an excellent host and really seemed to know the topic well. Sadly the weather did not allow for any real hands-on instruction or an in-depth look at a working system.

It would have been more enjoyable had everyone who already knew the "basics" of aquaponics held their questions until the end of the "basics" were presented. The majority of the group was answering open discussion questions that left me very confused and angry that I spent my money. Lastly, the 3 systems tour didn't happen until 15 minutes before the class was over - I personally would have loved a bit more time discussing how these systems were set up and the pros/cons of each.
