All of the above, but I am primarily focused on education and practical, affordable commercial farming using aquaponics. We have a long way to go before we can say we're farming sustainably, and we'll need all the help we can get. And luck.
Although I am better at it than most people, that doesn't say much nowadays. I have a black thumb generally speaking, and have killed many a tomato plant. I find that gardening requires more attention than most people have left after doing everything else they need to get done. If you miss a couple of watering cycles your garden can be toast. If you miss a bug infestation, same result. If you don't keep after the weeds, they take over. Soil gardening is a lot of work, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. That's why I like aquaponics.
The potential to save the planet from us. Our inefficient efforts to grow food are the most destructive force on the planet, and this offers a way out of that paradigm.
I am "Aquaponic Dave", an aquaponic systems designer living in Richardson. I have built several aquaponic systems and a dome home near Terrell which is made from recycled styrofoam. I also make super efficient wood fired rocket stove pizza ovens.
A really great bunch of folks!
