What are you interested in, hobby gardening, self sufficiency gardening, community gardening or commercial farming (or all of these)?

My interests are aquaponics, self sufficiency, commercial, community and hobby gardening. Bee keeping, worm composts.

What gardening/farming experience do you have?

Very little experience in both farm or garden. However I am kinda handy with the tools and heavy lifting. I can read, write listen and watch.

What makes aquaponics interesting to you?

Clean home grown food, sustained food sources, possible income for self employment, something about aquaponics stirs passions and thoughts like I haven't felt in a long time. For some reason I would like to explore more why it appeals to me so much.

What Mark H. is saying about this Meetup Group

Everyone seemed nice. Though after taking off for lunch close to 3, I think I had over cooked myself and felt pretty weak. I generally stand up in the heat well, it's part of my real job so unsure if water was the factor in this one. I think once I was able to see the "vision" of what was being built, and clearer lines of communication established things went well for the parts I was there. I would like to see builds like these start much earlier in the day before the heat has been kicking several hours. It was fairly hot at 1p and crept up to around 100. Too bad the nice weather we ad didn't hold out another week or so. Looking forward to something else.
