CONFIDENCE--what REBT and CBT say about it & how to develop it!

Dear Awesome Members,

It is a topic that one of our members suggested--and it is a topic that has come up often in my coaching of clients:  Self confidence and how to improve and strengthen it.

What does REBT have to say about this & why would REBT veer away from that term?

How does it differ from what CBT says?

How do we develop confidence?

Attend this meetup group if this topic is of interest to you and/or if you just want to start learning about REBT and CBT.  We almost always review the basics prior to starting our discussion.  If you keep attending, this could become a natural way to view things and solve challenges.

This meetup group is also designed to give you an opportunity to see REBT and CBT in action!  If you'd like me to coach you on this topic during our meetup, please let me know.

Awesome members, REBT teaches that when you really understand that underneath your unreasonable demand lives a healthy rational preference--a desire waiting for expression--then you're open to catch. The trick is to keep the preference, and drop the demand. Where you get yourself into trouble is when you go from saying, "I really want that," into saying, "I must have what I want." The first is flexible--creating high intention, low attachment. The second is false and rigid--creating variable intention and high attachment--the recipe for low frustration tolerance, self-rating, and awfulizing. Also, how does the above relate to confidence? You can post your guess here!
