Possible Gaming Stores in the area?

For those of us without a clue here, where are some gaming stores in the area? I don't mean Wal*Mart, Borders, or Barnes & Nobles but shops that stock boardgames, RPG rules, modules, etc. I can provide a couple right now as a start.

1. 92nd and Wadsworth. Trains, Rockets, Warhammer, Pool Tables, Darts, RC Cars and planes, Board games (a couple), RPG's.

2. Pearl St. Mall, Boulder. Up near 17th St I believe. Munchkins, Risk, parlor games.

I found a game store on Google but can't find it again. 1555 Arapahoe in Boulder if I remember correctly. Between 119 and 28 I think. Heading down there today.

Any others?

Got a card from the Boulder store:

Karliquin's Game Knight
3330 Arapahoe Ave
Boulder, Co 80803

http://www.karliquin....

Small store (10'x20'), left half behind the register has tables and a game was going on in the back. Register has the requisite dice both in a tray on the left and in the display case. Right side had different games in magazine rack type displays. I spotted the SR4 core rules and the Street Magic hardback books. Both were set to full retail price though. Extreme Paranoia books and "stuff". DnD books and several magazines. On the back wall were some more obscure gear including Munchkins, Nuclear War and Escalation (they had Pakistan/India but I snagged that :) ), Tom Wham's Snits. On the shelves were quite a few board/boxed games. Railroad Tycoon for example. The right wall was packed with a bunch of miniatures.

Carl and others:

Here's a few stores that I am aware of:

Arvada - Beyond the Blackboard - http://www.beyondtheb... - 7721 Wadsworth Blvd. # B - This is mainly a store for teachers to get their supplies, or for those who home school their kids. If you are looking for educational games to play with your young'ins... this is the best place to go. They have open boxes of many of their games and they will take the time to teach you to play. 303-422-5151 for more information. See Littleton for their other location.

Arvada - Black & Read http://www.blackandre... - 7821 Wadsworth Blvd. - this store sells new and used games, books & music. They have one of the best selections around of new games and they always discount them 10-20% off the msrp. 20% off a $60 game is a $12 savings + no shipping - even though you pay sales tax - amounts to some good savings. 303-467-3236

Aurora - Attactix - 15107 E. Hampden Ave. - President/GM is Bill Winiski - they host board gaming on Monday night and RPG's all other nights. Call 303-699-3349 for more information.

Broomfield - Time Well Spent - http://www.timewellsp... 7070 W. 117th Ave., Unit C - Members of the Denver Games group http://games.groups.y...
know the Owners Dave and Pamela Jones well, since they are members. Dave tries to attend 1 meeting per month, he takes orders in advance then delivers them to the meeting. I have not visited the Broomfield location, but they list it as a warehouse, not a retail store. The prices on this website usually come up as the lowest in ALL OF THE USA when you look at the marketplace on Board Game Geek. It seems like all games are clearance priced every day. 303-439-7239

Colorado Springs - Castle Games and Gifts http://www.castlegame... - 5975 N. Academy Blvd., Ste. 203 - RPG's every night of the week in this store with ample tables. Want to play board games, contact the Colorado Springs Boardgamers http://games.groups.y..., they meet twice a month on either Sat. or Sun. at Pikes Perk Coffee Shop which is on the same corner. Members of CSBG receive a 15% discount on games at Castle. Jeff Barry is the President 719-260-9344

Colorado Springs - Compleat Games & Hobbies http://www.gamesandho... - 326 N. Tejon (719) 473-1116 - I have not been to this store yet, but all the CS people brag and boast about the deals they get there.

Littleton - Beyond the Blackboard - 2690 E. County Line Rd. # Q 303-488-9960 - see Arvada for a description of the business.

Littleton - FunAgain Games - 57 E. Powers Ave. - Same company as the one many of you shop on the internet. Come visit their new location right here in the Denver metro. I have not been there yet, so I can't tell you more.

Littleton - It's Your Move - in Southwest Plaza. I believe this is their final store. They once had store in Westminster Mall and Southglen Mall. Nice store, but small. Ed Simons is the Store Manager 303-798-8828.

Parker - Bills Board Games - http://www.BillsBoard... - sorry, I can't help but promote my business too. I started buying and selling used board games just over a year ago. In my first year I purchased over 1,000 games, I sold over 300. My current inventory is approximately 675 games. I travel the States of Colorado and Wyoming in my full time job, so I can meet you most anywhere for deliveries, and I am a member of most board game groups in the State. Want a game shipped, I charge exact shipping only. Although I do not list prices on my site, I will quote you a price that beats the average game price on eBay or BGG. I also set up booth space occasionally at the Mile High Flea Market, and at Toy Shows. Watch my website to learn of upcoming shows. If you are searching for a specific game, game part, rule, etc. contact me and I will help you look. On my website you will find an e-mail address and a phone number to reach me.

Parker - CollectorMania - 17892 Cottonwood Dr. - RPG night is every night of the week on their ample playing tables. Interested in board gaming, Ted McKnight the Owner host a free game night, the first Monday of every month at the Parker library. This event keeps growing with us Southlanders, but has no organized website to list members. Ted brings a supply of games to play from his store, but you are welcome to bring your own too. 303-766-3530

Keep playing and have fun!

How about the Wizards Chest, in Cherry Creek North? It's been there for years, and has a great costume collection as well.

Wheatridge - Valhallas Game Center - http://www.valhallas.... - 6161 W. 44th Ave. Wheatridge, CO 80033

I went to Valhallas a month or so back. It has a pretty nice back gaming area with lots of tables and such. The front was pretty quiet with two staffers behind the register. Oddly enough though I didn't get a good vibe from the place. Just didn't feel very friendly. That you couldn't bring in your own sodas and such was a big turn-off.

Englewood - Bonnie Brae Hobbies - http://www.bonniebrae... - 3421 S. Broadway, in Englewood

Much better. I stopped in there a couple of weeks ago. A lot of RPG type games lined the right wall with models and wargaming stuff on the left and several tables in the back. The guy behind the counter was very friendly and asked if I needed help a couple of times. While I was just browsing, he jumped on the computer to check the back history of a book I was looking for.

I did some wandering around at the same time I visited Valhallas and went to Attactics. Two gaming rooms on either side of the store, lots of gear, lots of people in the place. And even so, I was asked three times if I needed help finding something (I did find four books) and one of the gamers chatted with me for a minute or so. Again a much friendlier place to visit. Not sure what the problem was with Valhallas.

Thanks for all the locations. I'll do some more visiting this weekend.

Thanks. I'm heading to a game on Wednesday so I'll stop in (assuming I don't get hijacked :) ).

And ther is a store in Cherry Creak called "the Wizards Chest", it has an ok selection of RPG, card and dice games as well as several "family" games, and they have a cool costume shop if you want ot make your RPG games into something more like a "costume party" kind of thing.
