For those of you in my Programming Class...
I have a couple of updates for those in my programming class, for those of you that are not, I am sorry for the interruption.
I give up on Google+, it is a great idea, but not fully baked. It looks like some day it will be really useful, but for today, it just is not working.
I have posted a .tar.gz file for each week up on the files section of Meetup. Weeks 1 & 2 are already posted, and I will have tomorrows lecture notes (Week 3) up hopefully before class tomorrow morning.
Last week, we discussed trying to maybe move to FRCC for the class. I have called and left a couple of messages, but have not ever heard back. However, someone else also took the initiative and was more successful than I. As it turns out, it looks like they will charge $20/hr instead of the $25/hr the library charges. To me this is still a fairly large amount for a class I am trying to keep free.
A couple of you have mentioned Den-Hac, and someone from there has begun contacting me. We have yet to connect, but I suspect that we will be able to move there for next week, but in the mean time, this week will still be at the library. I want to give a special shout out to David Willson and Dana Matekovic who has given me the best information on potentially moving the class there. For those that are not familiar with DenHac, they will be located at I25 and 58th ave, so it should be much closer for those coming up from more southern locations.
DenHac has already said they will not charge us for the room, but will gratefully accept gratuities. I volunteer my time, and if those that contribute now, contribute to DenHac instead of to reimburse me for the room, this sounds like a win-win situation.
Anyway, I hope to see all of you out tomorrow at the Programming Class. Again, this room is out of my pocket, so any donations will be gratefully accepted to offset this cost until we can get into a free location.
