I`m just writing to tell you about a
great meetup that I organise called Celebrate London. 2010
brings a whole host of exciting new events for members to enjoy
as we look to turn up the heat (gas shortages permitting) and
enljoy all the best that this amazing City has to offer.
In the next few months alone we will be visiting the
Geffrye Museum, home to 400 years of English Interior design,
The V&A Museum for the launch of its medieval galleries and the
Museum of London for a tour of its Roman Exhibits.
Celebrate London`s own Blue Badge Guide Laurence Summers
will continue his one man quest to shed light on all the
mysteries of London with his series of guided tours entitled
`Summers in the City` (I though that one up myself - good isn`t
it!). After his `Ghosts of Old London Town` tour Lawrence will
be giving us an introduction to the many and varied treasures of
the British Museum on the 22nd January.
We will also be continuing our series of events called `The
Magical Mystery Tour` which periodically uncovers some of
London`s many hidden gems, delves into the bowels of secret
London and generally uncovers the bits of the City that escape
even the most clued up of guide books.
2010 will also be the year in which we focus on the Anglo-
saxons and we will be embarking on a series of events to uncover
their history, their culture and their legacy. And as summer
approaches we will be making a series of trips to sites
associated with anglo saxon history and having a number of
specially designed tours that will give us a greater insight
into their times.
However, we are going to let our hair down too! 12 Amazing
Days in One Year will bring us 12 breathtaking new experiences
to delve into starting with the London City Hunt in february.
Part self led tour, part treasure hunt, gather the clues as you
move through the streets with your team to find the finishing
line and win the prize. 12 Amazing Days will also be giving you
the chance to work off all that pent up agression with a chance
to go paintballing on february 13th.
The Celebrate London Dining Club makes its debut with
a rescheduled event entitled A Celebration of bRazilian Cusine`
which will give us a night of masterful Brazilian cooking and
vibrant live music at GuanaBara, one of London`s top latin
Then if you chuck in our new singing theme The Karaoke
Challenge, a range of sporting events in the summer and a number
of group trips to domestic and foriegn destinations then you can
probably see that its going to be quite a busy year. Sound like
fun? Then what are you waiting for? Click the link and join the
