It is illegal and dangerous to dispose of these products in a trash container or at landfills. If you have cans of paint in your garage that still has paint and you don't know what to do with it, you can donate it! There may be someone who can use the paint for projects. The City of San Diego operates a Paint and Materials Exchange Bank in the Chollas View area where citizens can obtain free recycled paint in limited colors for graffiti removal. Call the paint bank at (619)[masked] to make an appointment for pick up of paint and supplies or submit the on-line Release of City of San Diego Materials Form. OR - If you want to prooperly dispose of paint cans and other hazardous cans of "Stuff", residents in the City of San Diego need to make an appointment at the City's Household Hazardous Waste Transfer Facility by calling[masked] (Monday-Friday 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.). The Facility is open on Saturdays to those with appointments only.
