Oh I'm sorry that I missed the event, sounds like it was a lively discussion :-)
As a participant observer it was highly entertaining (much better than the book in my opinion!). And think of all those 'ism's' we haven't even touched on yet! More lively discussions to come, me thinks. :)

Small group attended which led to a very intimate discussion not only on the book but other delicate matters. But sure we had great fun, didnt we Dermot!!

Another cancellation! My car does not start. I'm so rage... As I wanted to hear what other people's opinion was about this month's book. Like Rhona, each chapter I was waiting for something to happen! It was a bit of a dragging on. I must say if Marian Keyes had written it I may have enjoyed it more. Not mad about British sense of humour. I'd give 6 to One day. Sorry for the last minute, I have been waiting for some home-start guy who never turned up.

Unfortunately, I won't be able to attend this meeting, work related commitments :(
See you all next time.
Sorry for the last minute cancellation...I have to work late this evening.
Hi all - not going to make it this evening - have read the book and didn't love it!!!!! Would give it a 5 -- really couldn't get behind either of the main characters - and found it really dragged in spots!! Look forward to February meeting - have an enjoyable evening
Happy new year everybody, hope you all had a good Christmas. Unfortunately I can't attend tomorrow ...... Work commitments. Hope ye enjoyed the book, apologies to anyone who considered it was chewing gum for the brain! I'm away on holidays first week of February, so will see ye in March.
Any newbies attending tomorrow? Hopefully there are. Haven't been to this meetup before but looking forward to it

Unfortunately I can't make it for the January meeting. Christmas celebrations got in the way, so I didn't manage to read the book! Hope you have a great meeting.
Just joined and see it's the book- One day. I haven't got the book. I may get it before but if not I'll just be interested to listen in on my first meeting and be ready for the next one.

Fans of this writer David Nicholls may be interested to watch tonight's drama called " 739". on BBC at 9.00 pm as it was written by him.( part 2 is on Tuesday night). It's another rom-com I think about 2 people who meet on a train.
Only those who had already read "One Day" can watch it.Those still reading the book should continue with their homework.

As there was a tie between two books for our January meeting a few members who didn't vote online cast their vote at our December meeting. The book choice for January is confirmed as One Day by David Nicholls.
