Kracker Klass with Abeba Wright (the Krazy Kracker Lady)

  • June 20, 2010 · 2:30 PM
  • Downtown Oakland

Abeba Wright, known as the Krazy Kracker Lady, will be teaching a class on how to make her tasty krackers. Most people say these krackers are the most outstanding raw crackers they ever had. Some of them are really thin and crisp- and go well with any dip, especially her recipe that she serves with them.
She is offering a special bonus to the first 15 who RSVP YES– 3 unpublished recipes. She's also offering a discount fee of $20 for the class and you are welcome to either pay through Pay Pal or at the door. Laurie Cooperman, has generously offered her downtown Oakland venue again - so as many who want to come may come. Here are further instructions about finding the space. It's the entrance that has the mosaic tiles around it. Go directly up the stairs and turn into the room on the left right at the top of the stairs (we have an elevator available from a different entrance on 22nd St. if anybody will need assistance getting up the stairs). We're just a block from BART....take the 17th St. Station but get off at the 20th/Broadway exit from the station. That puts you right near the Paramount Theater and we're a block and a half up from there. For more about Abeba Wright:
Abeba is a certified raw food chef, teacher, and motivational speaker. Her teaching methods are fun, humorous, and filled with wisdom. Leola Brooks, director of the Ann Wigmore Institute, was so impressed with Abeba’s teaching skills that she was invited to give as a teacher and receive as a student at the Ann Wigmore institute.

One of her most treasured achievements has been writing her international best-selling book, Absolutely Abeba’s Krazy Krackers: Learning the Secret to a Good Kracker. It has become a staple in both the raw and cooked food communities. She contributed eight of her most requested recipes to the best selling book The Complete Book of Raw Food, which features over 50 raw food chefs from around the world. She was featured in the Bay Area’s Oakland Magazine discussing the raw food lifestyle and, of course, her Krazy Krackers.
Abeba will be appearing at the Raw and Living Retreat in Oregon in August, 2010.

Eat up at the Meet up Cracker

    Cilantro
    tomato
    corn
    bell pepper
    garlic
    onion
    salt
    chili powder
    liquid from soaking sundried tomatoes
liquid from BBQ sauce (we made her BBQ chip recipe earlier)
    soaked flax

makes a nice thick cracker you evenly spread onto the tray and then score before dehydrating

The onion rings were incredible and we came up with a new cracker named after our meetup
"Eat Up at the Meet Up" sort of a southwestern cracker. I've got some in my dehydrator right now and I'm hoping to bring some to our meetup on July 11th (not posted yet- it will be a foraging expedition). Abeba is not to be missed and I'm hoping she'll be back with another fabulous class.

abeba is very personable and entertaining while at the same time being interesting and informative.
she knows what she is doing and made it all seem easy. she had samples of abt 10 krackers and they were all good.. plus a pate and a salsa she made on the spot.
what more could you ask for...

This was the most fun meetup yet! I told Abeba I was bringing my appetite, and she was more than generous with the crackers. I felt like I ate nonstop. The salsa, the pate, the crackers... everything I put in my mouth made me say WOW! I decided that every Sunday I would do some dehydrating. I will work my way through this Krazy Kracker book. Thank you Abeba, for sharing your Krackers, and your love. I hope to see you again real soon.

Is there a scheduled ending time for this class? Just asking because I have another commitment after the class and would like to plan. Thanks, Libby
