Update on the Klass!

We'll be starting the Klass at 2:45 p.m. because of the Oakland Marathon.

Take BART if you want to be sure everything is easy. But Broadway where the Klass is will be accessible at 2 p.m.

Abeba Wright, the Krazy Kracker Lady, will be back again- teaching a class on how to make her tasty krackers and will also be teaching us how to make breads this time. I’ve asked her to make sure she includes her onion ring recipe since they are so great- and I want people who missed her last time to see how great they are and especially how to make them. (They are an honest-to-good replacement for onion rings- and I’d say junk food. You have to taste them to believe it!) Most people say these krackers are the most outstanding raw crackers they ever had. Some of them are really thin and crisp- and go well with any dip, especially her recipe that she serves with them.

She is offering a special bonus to the first 15 who RSVP YES– 3 unpublished recipes (and they will be different than the ones she gave out last time–she will have 2 sets to choose from). She's also offering a discount fee of $20 for the class and you are welcome to either pay through Pay Pal or write me a check.

(Just e-mail me if you’d like to send a check-and I'll RSVP for you and mark you paid when I get the check)

PS Raw Daddy might have his cones for sale before the event- so stay tuned for that.

Laurie Cooperman, has again generously offered her downtown Oakland venue again - so as many who want to come may come. Here are further instructions about finding the space. It's the entrance that has the mosaic tiles around it. Go directly up the stairs and turn into the room on the left right at the top of the stairs (we have an elevator available from a different entrance on 22nd St. if anybody will need assistance getting up the stairs). We're just a block from BART....take the 17th St. Station but get off at the 20th/Broadway exit from the station. That puts you right near the Paramount Theater and we're a block and a half up from there.

thanks theo, that means my job was done, getting people to experiment and make some krazy krackers. I can't reinerate enough that's how krazy krackers came into existence, there were just no or hardly any cracker recipes other than whole flaxseed krackers which got quite boring after awhile. Thank you so much for your post, it is a blessing and I thank you for attending the klass and making your krazy krackers, keep up the good work

Really enjoyed the class Abeba! Made a batch of Kut the Cheez krackers yesterday and there's only a few left today - they are that delicious! I added a bit of nutritional yeast because I'm addicted to cheese and was going for max-cheese taste. They were so thin, light and crispy with a nacho cheese like flavor (my husband said they tasted like cheese enchiladas). I think next time I might try omitting the spices and using a yellow bell pepper to make a parmesan-like crumble...

Thank you so much Queen of Krackers. Your class was great. My only request would be that it would be a longer class you have so much to teach and give. Thank you. I have been working on making better Krackers for about a year now. Thank you for sharing your secrets to the perfect Kracker. Thin crisp and delicious. I will make everything in your book that I bought and hope to take another of your classes and buy another of your books. And then again make everything in that book. Right now I can hear my dehydrator going. I can't wait to taste and share my new Krakers. Love, Leigha

I wasn't in the mood for a workshop but went anyway since I already paid for it, and I gotta say I LOVE ABEBA!!! She radiates such joy and enthusiasm. It's obvious to me that she was born to do this work and I wish her all success. Abeba is a gift to our community.

I am SO GLAD I had the opportunity to meet The Krazy Kracker Lady and taste some of her delicious recipes. The onion rings would be PERFECT for a Super Bowl party or any gathering like that!!! This was also my first time tasting Raw Daddy's Raw Cones and I LOVED THEM...as well as his chocolate haystacks.

Once again it was a fabulous class. People were blown away by the onion rings. And the bread was great too- Learned a lot- but I'm really glad that Jeff took a video of this class so I can go over it again!

just took the bread out of the dehydrator, there are 2 breads with different textures so I'd like to know which texture you like best. The pizza kracker is smelling up my hose like a pizzeria and the bbq goes in tues along with the yummy onion rings. I have a few experiments going on too after all that's how krazy krackers came into existence, all by experimentation. We'll play with some recipes and you'll see how to do a chip verses a kracker plus a dip or salsa we'll name after our group.

Transit clarification for folks not familiar with BART: there is no 17th Street station. Go to the 19th Street station (listed in the info. box at the top of this Meetup page) and then follow the written instructions in the text above to leave the BART station via the 20th Str./Broadway exit.

well to my krazy kracker lovers, I'm experimenting again and made a delicious wafer like kracker or chip I'm not sure yet what category to put it in. I used the base for a kracker, then I had some liquid left over and decided to try something else to add to it and WOW, it's not the most attractive looking kracker but the taste and ingredients I used make this a very simple chip, kracker or wafer. Please come to the klass and enjoy a funfilled klass full of education and lots of good eatin

OMG I have just done another onion ring, it is off the HOOK, unbelievable, I will bring it to the klass in a few weeks I don't even want to tease you with what it is yet omg I can't stand it myself, this is why I need somebody in the kitchen with me when I take my krackers or treats out of the dehydrator because I eat to many myself but because they are healthy I'm giving myself permission but overeating them is not good but you all made me do it but I forgive you.
