Tea and Chocolate

I’ve been talking about Jing City Tea ever since I tried it a couple of years ago and found it gave me a kind of energy that was different than I had ever experienced before.  I talked about how my brother kicked his coffee habit with it.  I’ve wanted to share the tea with the meetup for equally long.  It took me a long time to get the ingredients but I finally did.  We visited the tonic bar in LA headed by Truth Calkin who came up with the tea after studying Chinese medicine with Ron Teegarden (an MD who found these medicines healed his chronic fatigue), who learned it from a visiting Chinese master.  He says the tonic works on your core and starts creating reserves of Jing, whereas stimulants and stress deplete this.  Jing is one of the three treasures that the Chinese believe make up your life.  Jing “is the essence, the primal essence . . . the energy that is inherited ancestrally through your mother’s and father's lines,” says Truth.  He said he started to give people who came to the tonic bar Jing City Tea no matter their complaints.  This meetup will give you a chance to try the tea and learn about the Chinese tonic herbs that are in it.  It will also be an introduction to the 3 treasures, one of which is Jing, which have underpinned Chinese medicine practices for centuries.  If nothing else it will expand your awareness of this aspect of superfoods.

While we drink our tea, Ronnie Landis will be introducing us to Jing City Tea.  He will also give a chocolate demo and answer your questions.  Ronnie Landis just hosted David Wolfe and has an interest in following in Truth’s footsteps at a tonic bar in LA.  Truth has moved on and Ronnie just may be serving Jing City tea in LA.

We’ll get some samples of chocolate of course, and recipes of the tea.  Also, this tea has a cumulative effect, and if you are interested in trying the tea for a little while, I will have small bags of the herbs “at cost” to me (without cost of shipping).  I should have enough so that people can try it a couple of times a day for 14 weeks or 1 time a day for a month.  I haven’t figured out the price yet but it will be reasonable.  If you’re interested in this aspect before the meetup let me know (e-mail me at [masked]).

If you want to try the tea- arrive on an empty stomach. This is important.
