Celebrate World Raw Food Day at our new venue ihis Sunday at 6:30!
It is 1970 Chestnut St. Berkeley.
We are hosting this in collaboration with an organization that is encouraging these events world-wide. We are one of the few in the US to have it.
Remember when you RSVP, the cost of the event is $5 if you are bringing a dish. The site will tell you $15 but that is only if you are not bringing a dish. If you have purchased a meetup membership- then it is free because the membership of $25 means your venue fees are waived for a year. (see more below).
If you would like to volunteer and come for free -Please e-mail me
Also contact me if you have a meetup membership or would like one and want to come.
Please also e-mail me your recipe- and bring one to put with your dish- see other details below.
Already we're having raw blueberry pie, raw Pad Thai, no-bean hummus and veg chips and Abeba is bring her famous pineapple curry salsa and lots of chips! See the Krazy Kracker Lady's pineapple salsa HERE

August 26th is World Raw Food Day and we’re going to have a potluck/dinner at our new venue. You will love our new venue– it’s got a big kitchen, 2 sinks, and lots of room. This event will be our first there. In keeping with the occasion, I want to gear this meetup to people on every level of the raw food life style- but especially to new comers who can use some recipes to get them launched. (Actually I think all of us can use some new recipes to keep us going.) Therefore I’m asking you to bring 2 recipes of your dish, one for me to e-mail to everyone who comes to the meetup (you can also e-mail me your recipe ahead of time).
Ronnie Landis will be giving another chocolate demo and we’ll also talk about spring water. He will be leaving for LA right after this event, so it’s great he can share his knowledge at another of our events before leaving.
Pot luck guidelines: Bring enough for about 10 people. Also, bring 2 copies of your recipe, one so that members can see what’s in the dish and can look for foods they are allergic to, and the second so that I can e-mail you all the recipes. This way we will walk away with many new recipes to make.
If you would like a recipe or some suggestions please e-mail me! ([address removed]). Heather Haxo Phillips, one of our sponsors, is going to offer a couple of her recipes to send to people as well. if you opt to bring fruit instead of a dish, in fairness to others bring enough for 10 members and or at least $10.00 worth of fruit. If for some reason you'd rather not bring a dish, it will be $10.00. (Also: Each person may have one guest that is exempt from bringing a dish). Please make sure all dishes are organic raw vegan, meaning no animal products (except honey) no dairy, gluten or refined sugar.
The meetup will have bowls and plates and cups but it would be helpful if you bring your own utensils.
Because this is World Raw Food Day- they will be publicizing our event and you may be meeting more people than you expected. We hope to attract new people in the area to our event.
We need to charge a $5 venue fee but those who have purchased meetup memberships for $25 have this fee waived* (see Details below).
Hope you can make it!
*About Meetup Memberships
If you would like to purchase a membership, you will be able to waive these venue fees (ranging from[masked] per meetup) for an entire year.
