As part of the current Black and White theme, we thought it would be a good idea to visit Bangour Hospital just outside of Edinburgh. This is a site where there are a large number of derelict and decaying buildings in a large public area that offer great opportunity for Black and White images. Although there is no longer access to the buildings, you can take photographs through the windows and the whole area, in the right conditions, can be very eerie.
The group last visited Bangour on October 5 last year and you can see the potential for B&W in a number of the images that are stored on the EDPG site.
As with the trip to Seacliffe, this will need car pooling, so I suggest we follow the same process with cars leaving Edinburgh at 1pm with a view to getting to Bangour car park at about 1:45. We can then start the meetup at 2pm. We will probably finish around 4pm.
If drivers can make themselves and a departure point known, then I'm sure everyone can organise a lift. I will be leaving Edinburgh at 12:30 to get there early.
Filters (£1 hire) and tripods (£2) will be available if people needs them. If you could let me know in advance, that would be a big help.
