Festival of Lights @ The Edmonton Zoo

Please note the DATE CHANGE: Due to current weather conditions, we are going to try for Sunday the 15th.  I spoke with the zoo and unfortunately there aren't many indoor activities planned to allow us to warm up.  Forecast is presently much more favorable for the 15th so let's hope Mother Nature cooperates.

Thank you Emilia for being the event host for this meetup!

Please note that this meetup is dependant on weather conditions. Please check this site before heading out to see if it is still on.  Meet Emilia at the entrance gate at 5pm- sharp.

IF you RSVP, ensure that you attend because it will not be nice to have the host wait in the cold for no shows!

This December, the Festival of Light, the first of its kind, will stage a spectacular exhibition of artistic light installations within the unique setting of the zoo.

Fee: $5.00 Entrance Fee / $20 per family

Please note that the zoo tomorrow will most likely be, well, a zoo... At 5:50 today there was a line up to get in almost to the main road. The parking lot was full... Since tomorrow us forecast to be a nicer day, we should expect the same. I will get in line early so we can start going in as close to 5pm as possible. Please let me know if you don't think you can get there by 5 so we know not to wait. I'll have a black coat, blue camera bag, a tripod and hopefully a meetup sign so you can spot me in line.

    December 14, 2013

    • Bev H.

I'll try to get there a bit early if possible and keep you company in the line. Kind of depends on the roads in when I'll get there.

I forgot I work a later shift on Sunday. I am still planning on coming, but will get there around 6pm. I will wander in on my own, and hopefully run into some of you around the zoo that evening :)

Even with the great forecast, if any of you are prone to cold extremities, I highly recommend hand warmers. They are my new best friend for outdoor winter photography.

They are easily available at Canadian Tire:

    See you all Sunday!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
