My kids and I came up with the idea of flying windows, doors and lego people and splashing them into a tub of water. It created a bit of a mess but was lots of fun!

hey Kaye, she is on FB as Chantel Perron, I think she is a member here or was. I think her site is chantelsnapshots.ca but she told me that her hard drive with all the kids work on it pooched not long ago so she doesn't have anymore of their work. don't be afraid to give the kids a decent point & shoot and let them shoot away! I like the little Lumix as they have leica lenses. Of course I like the Nikon N1 but maybe for their 2nd camera. They also grab her older DSLR's and take pics too.

Great concept and a beautiful capture. Sharp focus. Standout colours. May I suggest that a bit more of exposure on the water might have made the image stand out a bit more?

thank you for the suggestion Arun. It was my first attempt at a water shot and honestly, I had no idea what I was doing lol. How would I add more exposure on the water? Angle the flash a little lower perhaps?

I would suggest using a white board reflector do bounce some of the light onto the water. Doesn't need that much, a little more would have filled in.

It would be fun to have a "how to" meetup for this type of water shot because I had no real idea how to do it. I just set it up and we tried our best (it involved a lot of team work with my awesome kids). I honestly didn't think it would win second place. Thanks so much for your votes!

I was looking at doing something like this for the "White" challenge. Dropping something into milk. Didn't get around to it, didn't want to do the cleanup. Great first attempt.
