I've been on something of a hiatus lately, after running this group for so many years it can get to be a bit much. However, now that summer activities have died down and the time to gather indoors is upon us, I hope to be able to start doing a bit more. To kick it off, our traditional Christmahanakwanzika celebration!

Though we missed out on this last year due to my housing crisis back in Ohio, we do still have a long history of throwing an awesome holliday party. As a bonus I will be settled into a new home which will have much more room for entertaining, so this can also be a combination housewarming party! Just promise not to make fun of the delightfully retro kitchen...

The party will be a potluck, with recommended items  consisting of easy to eat on the go finger type foods. Think munchies and not main courses, though I won't complain. To ensure a diverse range of items please list what you'll be bringing with your RSVP. Cups/plates/silverware/napkins will be provided though if you wish to be eco-friendly you are welcome to bring your own. I will probably have some kind of cocktail available for your enjoyment but otherwise you should BYOB.

We'll also be holding our traditional white elephant gift exchange! All guests should plan to bring a small wrapped gift for the exchange, while we don't have a firm price limit obviously you should be reasonable and not bring a 60" Plasma TV (as I would merely confiscate it before the exchange). Gifts will range from hilarious crap to potentially useful items and it's always a fun time.

And of course, it would not be a party without our annual celebration of Festivus. We will gather around the pole and compete in the traditional Festivus events of The Airing of Grievances and The Feats of Strength.

This will be a family friendly party, though historically it tends to run somewhat late. I am not scheduled to have my kids this night, however if you'd like to bring kids along I can certainly invite mine over and we have plenty to keep kids entertained.

Hi Chad! Yes, I'm planning on bringing fried chicken (again) AND my children (I'm sure you remember them). Please have yours on hand, if you are able! This will make it much more enjoyable for all of us!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
