I think my parents started my appreciation for wine at a young age. I then took some wine classes in college and my interest in wine has grown from there. Does being born in CA have anything to do with it? ;)
I'm always into French wines, especially Burgundies but I like to try wines from all over the world. I think Austria is great for unique whites and Spain presents great value. South America is fun. I'm discovering some gems from CA too.
For whites I love German Rieslings especially but also Sauvignon Blanc. For reds I've always loved Pinot Noir. Rhone blends are tasty, good values. Lately I like to try new things like Gruner Veltliner from Austria. I also love Champagne and other sparkling wines! Bubbly makes everyone happy. :)
When I dine out I've been drinking a lot of 2002 Burgundy recently. For everyday drinking, I'm really into best value wines so I love to try bottles that price under $20. During the summer I drink a lot of gruner, albarino, riesling, SB and dry rose. During the winter I tend to drink more reds. And champagne...anytime!!!!
I always enjoy making new friends that share a common interest in wine.
I'm a wino, I admit. I love to try new varietals and blends and enjoy discovering fantastic bottles that are good values. For me wine is fun...and even more fun when you get to share it with friends. So let's drink up!
