" The bold and beautiful Orchids in the Glasshouse event brings you face to face with a towering volcano of Ludisia orchids, fiery Cymbidiums and Phalaenopsis. Brilliant colour, tropical heat and exotic displays create a paradise for orchid lovers and enthusiasts alike!
Stroll through the avenue of striking Oncidiums leading to a fantasy island created out of cool climate Coelogynes, Zygopetalums and other choice orchids, evoking the forest landscapes of the Himalayas.
Onward to the tropical zone and here you will find delicate Dendrobium and Phalaenopsis planted in clouds along with boldly coloured Vandas. Don’t miss the new ‘Living Room’ installation in the Glasshouse Gallery where the ever-popular Phalaenopsis is displayed, showing its full potential as the ideal plant for the home orchid grower "
After the Glasshouse/orchid, we can wander round the extensive grounds where we may see the
sensational blossom display of Prunus incisa ‘Kojo-no-mai’ was we wander throuhg through Wisley’s Rock Garden. Its profusion of pale red flowers seems to shimmer in the wind and dance in the spring sunlight - though thinking of the recent rain and snow - it probably is hiding in the soil !!
Once we have finished we can have a welcome tea/cake in the cafe before heading home.
