Hello and Welcome to Farnborough and Farnham Friends

This active, friendly and very popular meetup group is free to join and provides a good opportunity to meet other locals in the area to socialize and make new friends...Whether you are new to the area or simply want to expand your social circle, please join us!  We are one of the biggest groups in the area and people of all ages are welcome.  We are a very friendly group of people, just take a look at our Group Reviews on the left hand side of the page. Our members come from all surrounding areas, including Camberley, Sandhurst, Bagshot, Wokingham, Fleet, Yateley, Aldershot and beyond.  Our events take place throughout the Hampshire and Surrey area and there is a wide choice of things to do.

The idea of this group is to have fun whilst getting to know new, interesting, and friendly individuals, in different settings. We arrange restaurant visits, walks, visits to places of interest, cinema, live music nights, theatre, pool competitions, dart nights, ten pin bowling, etc. ... 

You may, or may not be aware, that the Meetup organization charges the organizers (Liz and Pauline) a fee for the rental of the group's website. Unlike many other groups, we do not have an annual membership fee, but we cover this cost and other expenses involved in running the group (such as advertising to attract new members, booking fees, telephone calls, etc), by charging £1 for each meetup event attended or £2 for walks. We hope you will agree that £1-£2 is a very reasonable charge for all the hard work that goes on in the background to make this group a success and continue to grow, and be happy to pass this amount to the Event Host when attending an event.   If you have an idea for an event and would like to host it, please let Liz or Pauline know. 

Like a lot of groups, we have a No Show rule.  If you RSVP Yes to an event and do not turn up or let the event host know you cannot attend, after the third time this happens we will terminate your membership of the group.

Please note too that it is not necessary to RSVP No if there is a meetup you do not wish to attend.  We only need to know the Yes RSVP's.  The only time you need to RSVP No is if you have already said yes to an event and then find you cannot attend.  In that case, we welcome being informed as soon as possible to enable another member of the group to take your place.
