Welcome to anyone who lives in the NYC area.

All my movie meet-up friends are going to see big, loud movies with giant explosions, pounding music, and catchy phrases. But amid all the hubbub there are a lot of other films falling through the cracks: foreign films, documentaries, independent films, classics, art house, and other "quiet" options.

We can see films all over Manhattan but I'll try to pick theaters close to transportation.

Let me vow, right now, that I won't cancel a meetup because "only one other person signed up". I'd love to see a movie with "only two people"!! That's much more manageable than one hundred and seven!! My perspective is that if I set up a movie meetup I am going to be there because it's a movie I want to see! I get no psychic thrill from knowing that 106 other people want to see the movie I want to see. I also do not want to save seats for 106 other people.

If there are some days that work better for you than others, you should let me know. I can't schedule for what I don't know. I'd prefer to avoid Saturdays crowds but America is a democracy so I'll do it if there is interest. Keep in mind that I can't get the movie listings for the movies that start on Friday until the previous Tuesday.

SOME RULES!!
I'm sorry but there have to be rules but I'll try to avoid a rule-heavy group.
-Refrain from using the MAILING LIST to contact specific members. That list goes to everyone in the group.

I feel free to remove members who don't at least visit the site in six months. You obviously don't want to be a member.
Instead, you can contact specific members by clicking on their names.
If it pertains to a specific meet-up night use the MESSAGE BOARD for that night.
If you have a question about something, contact the organizer (ME) or use the message board but don't expect an immediate answer as I have a job and am sometimes on a subway underground. I'll make myself more available closer to movie time.

We may include "afters" activities such as dinner, coffee. In any event it would be optional so don't dash at the end of the movie without saying goodbye.
