Bike the East Bay Bike Path

East Bay Bike Path, seems to be everyones favorite.  Very scenic and very flat. If you have never been on it, why not give it a try.

The distance to the Entrance of Colt State Park, is about 12 miles.  I plan to wait at the Entrance, for slower riders to catch-up. ( The Entrance is right on the Bike Path.)  The Park is full of water views  and there are plenty of places for our break. Why not take a Break & Enjoy the Scenery. There are Restrooms, at Colt State Park.

We probably will split into a few groups.  Feel free to go at your own pace and whatever distance you feel comfortable with. You can always turn around if you start getting tired.  I am sorry, but unless the turnout is small, I will not be able to watch everyone.

Directions:  Route 95 to Route 195 East, take Exit #5, Right on Warren, First Left on First Street.  At your second Stop Sign take a Right on Veterans Memorial Parkway. Follow Veterans Memorial Parkway  and you will see a Large Parking Lot on the Right.  I am not sure if the street # is 100.

I think Exit # 4 is still closed.

At last count, we have over 20 Riders signed-up, between my R.I. & Mass. Meet-Ups. There is a very good mix of Riders. Some slow, some fast, & quite a few in between. The way it looks now, everyone should find someone to ride with. Please make sure your bike is in riding condition. I will have a pump. Properly inflated tires, make pedaling easier & are less susceptible to flats.

I know with my mountain bike tires I may lag behind but that's ok I'm in it for the exercise not speed so don't feel like u have to babysit me. I'll catch up. Lol! Just happy to see other faces. Looking forward to it!

So there is no confusion, this is how I am Riding. We will wait at the entrance of Colt State Park, for the slower Riders. I plan to give everyone 70-75 Minutes, to get there. That is averaging less than 10 mph. If you can not Ride 24-30 Miles, you are more than welcome to Ride less. We will stay together through the Park and find a nice place for our break, then head back. It is up to you, to decide if you can ride 30 Miles. I am sorry, but do to the various levels of Riders, I can not watch everyone.

To Ann and the other First Timers. If you see a Group, simply say " Are you with Meet-Up ??" You may also be surprised when someone asks you if you are with Meet-Up. I have invited my R.I. Meet-Up, so we should have a good turnout.

I'm going to do the full 30 on this bike path so I will start at 9. I will be looking for your group. I dont want to take up a spot on your list, just in case my timing is off. So if we meet, I will just tag along. Hope to see you all!

    Hi Dave,
So again i am going to give myself an hour on a Sunday morning coming from Ashalnd, MA. I have done this ride be4 and it's very nice....about 24 total is what you are saying 12 there and 12 back, although to ride a round the park for a bit is very nice also...pack a snack/lunch I assume etc.
If you don't mind sending your cell phone # again, and this time I will keep it!
