Two New Updates to the Group - Membership Dues & New Asst.
Hey guys, in order to keep this group going, we're going to start collecting membership dues. BEFORE YOU START TO GROAN, let me explain...it really isn't all that bad!
You've got (2) options --
OPTION #2: pay-as-you-go. Probably ~ $2/per ride, in cash, at the beginning of the ride, to the ride organizer.
This means you can still join this group, receive the meet-up emails, RSVP for the rides and not have to pay. You will, however, need to pony up a couple bucks for the pleasure of our company :-) I don't want to belittle anyone's current monetary situation by saying that these dues "aren't a lot of money" but running this group (fees associated with Meet-up) dictates that this is the best solution.
2. New Assistant Organizers
Thanks to everyone who has graciously offered to help support this group by leading rides. My hope is that by bringing assistant organizers on board that we'll be able to host more meet-ups which more people will be able to fit into their schedules.
What I'm asking of the masses is that you be patient with our organizers as they start off (after a few meetings, you can be merciless with your feedback...KIDDING). It's an interesting feat to keep a group of various speeds and abilities going in the same direction...very similar to herding cats.
In the next few days you should start to see new names appear and some new meet-ups on the calendar. I hope that you'll all be able to make some rides before the weather takes a turn.
