Hey everyone -
You all joined this meet-up group because of a mutual love/like for biking but trying to coax yourself into the saddle when it's single-digit temperatures outside with the wind chill and there's no shoulder after the snow is plowed...well, it's hard.
Some of us can brave the elements and still get in a ride or two but it's safe to assume that the vast majority simply won't...or can't.
I do not want to stop the meet-up group so I'm looking to you all (~115 members at last count) to make some suggestions.
Have a kick-butt spinning class you'd like to suggest? Post it.
Want to try snowshoeing and have some ideas? Post them.
Craving some indoor rock climbing classes? You get the idea, post it.
For the next few months I will be switching up the meet-ups to include some physical activities outside of the 'grind and grub' -- I'll understand if this isn't your 'cup of tea' and we lose some members but I hope you'll all weather the change (pun totally intended) and know that in the spring, we're back in the cycling business.
New Year's resolutions are about to kick into gear and I'm sure most of us have some variation of "get healthy/lose weight/increase activity level" so get those suggestions on the site. If you're having problems posting to the site and would like to send the information to me directly so I can post, email me at [address removed].
Hope everyone had a great holiday and look forward to seeing you all in 2010, if not before :-)
Cheers,
Bethany
